Review of Magnum Force (1973) by Mike G — 31 May 2010
A worthy sequel, but lacks the touch that made the original so good. Clint Eastwood dominates of course, nothing different there, and some of the violence is pretty over-the-top for 1973. I remember first seeing it uncut and being pretty shocked as a young teen in the late 70's, but now it seems almost tame in comparison to the gory bloodbaths we are regularly treated to as if it's just normal.
Anyway, it's pretty entertaining and I don't think I'm giving it away to say that Calahan wastes everyone and with relish. "Man's got to know his limitations.".
