Review of Magnolia (1999) by Shawn E — 22 Apr 2011
Magnolia is surley well written but on the other hand drags throughout the story where it becomes unneccessary. It provides half of very well in depth characters, but the other half are in my opinion not needed and are fill ins.
I respect the director and the movie for what they produce, but the duration is a big issue, not needed. Tom Cruise is excellent in his role and others like Hoffman, Riley and Walters provide fine described characters but the others are not intresting.
Decent drama and well written, expected a whole lot better but quite satisfyed from what I seen and for 3 hours it was in somewhat interesting to see its long awaited conclusion. Which I was satisfyed but it has its flaws.
