Review of Magnolia (1999) by Tedd P — 11 Mar 2012
I'm still not quite sure what to make of Magnolia. While Paul Thomas Anderson is a master at drawing living, breathing characters and writing absorbing stories, his direction is often a bit over-indulgent (and the film is far too long).
Still, the cast is one for the ages and the performances are all stellar, making this meandering, somewhat uneven mishmash of a film an ultimately rewarding experience.
