Review of Magnolia (1999) by Marc R — 02 Mar 2013
A surreal and illogical, but brilliantly confident and exuberant film by one of today's greatest writer-directors, Paul Thomas Anderson. Everything about the picture is operatic. The themes, tones, and even the running time echo a feeling of expressive bigness.
An extremely ambitious piece of art.
