Review of Magnificent Obsession (1954) by M. K — 16 Sep 2011
Ridiculously contrived and borderline-creepy romance that feels like an extended Technicolor sweeps week plotline from "General Hospital", with a sudsy, overbearing score peppered with purple renditions of Chopin, Beethoven, etc.
Just because Douglas Sirk directed it doesn't mean it's great by any means.
