Review of Magicians (2000) by Ethan T — 09 Apr 2011
The jokes are a little uneven, but there's enough on show to recommend Magicians, particularly for fans of Mitchell & Webb, and of Jessica Hynes (nee Stevenson). Remember, while Harry (Mitchell) technically speaking did decapitate his wife onstage with a guillotine, no blame was ever attached to him, and that was established in court - well, a coroner's court, which is by definition a court of law.
And I'd basically rent this film just to see Stevenson utter her line, when asked how she likes her coffee: 'weak and white, like my men'.
