We love the Magic Mic (the regular one, not the Jr, I agree the Jr is useless). It is an extremely simple toy, just has a spring in an echo chamber that makes any noise you make sound a little echo-high. My aunts cousin is the one who introduced me to it. He would not say a thing for her, but he loved to make noises into the microphone. I have used it with all of my other children as well. It is also great for car trips, as it entertains the kids without being annoying. We've owned dozens over the years. Although it is quite sturdy, it doesn't survive being stepped on by an adult (when hidden under a coat on the floor, for example). We've also given them as favors at 2 or 3 year old birthday parties.

The mic has a plastic "antenna" that sticks out the hole in the bottom. Within a day of owning it, all my children have shoved the thing up into the body of the microphone, never to be seen again. Does not affect the function of the toy at all.
