Review of Magic Mike (2012) by Juli R — 11 Dec 2014
Working as a stripper is obviously demeaning, although I suspect it may be more so for women strippers. The screenplay is meant to be a realistic take on this world. It starts off with guys in thongs dancing routines and turns dark in the second half.
This is probably Matthew McConaughey's best role as the shrewd businessman but he is still really grating. I expected more from this movie.
