Review of Magic in the Moonlight (2014) by Edward K — 17 Aug 2014
An entertaining farce reminiscent of a Noel Coward play. There are a couple of dead spots but Colin Firth quickly recovers the momentum with his witty dialogue. The backdrop of the Côte d'Azur in a mid 20's setting was enjoyable but I suspect the critics expected more from the Woody Allen and judged the film based on the director's earlier accomplishments rather than enjoying this film in its own right.
