Review of Magic in the Moonlight (2014) by Matt H — 06 Jan 2015
Mid-range Woody Allen, not one of his home runs, but still solid, and more importantly, not one of his really bad entries. Which isn't a diss on Allen - when you write and direct like 40 movies over 40 years, you're going to make some bad ones.
His average is still amazing, though. Colin Firth's character is pretty hilarious, but the main problem of the film is the lack of chemistry between Firth and Stone. I think half the problem is the script and the other half the actors themselves.
Otherwise an entertaining movie, the romance is just never believable, unfortunately.
