Review of Magic in the Moonlight (2014) by Gavin P — 06 Mar 2015
A nice romcom from Woody Allen, with no trace of him. Firth plays the Allen character - neurotic, fast-talking, slyly charming - but because he's British & is Colin Firth, he's much more likable.
Simple plot - uncover the psychic (Stone) for the fraud he believes her to be. It happens to be set in France in the 1920's, so it looks and sounds like the era and the ending is very obvious, but it's a little weird that Firth is more than twice Stone's age! Quick, simple & enjoyable.
