Review of Magic in the Moonlight (2014) by Lesley H — 27 Jun 2015
Atrocious. 1) the age difference is ridiculous, 2) Firth can't make his character even likable - unusual for Firth, and 3) this lack of chemistry and ability to carry off the dialogue makes the whole think feel fake, and impossible to buy.
A young, fresh girl with a good looking, adoring and wealthy man would be interested in an cranky old man instead? Not a chance. The lead actor needed to be no older than 35, and some believability and chemistry might have been achieved.
