Review of Magic in the Moonlight (2014) by Drew M — 07 Oct 2016
Not one of Woody Allen's best films, but the main reason to see this movie is the beautiful scenery and the phenomenal, hilarious and scene stealing performance of Colin Firth. To me he totally steals the show.
He's the main reason to see this film. I'm predicting a Golden Globe nomination for Colin. I like Emma Stone, she is sometimes funny and has marvelous chemistry with Colin Firth, but honestly this is not one of her best performances.
To me she seemed weak and not that lovable. Most of the supporting cast is strong. The costumes, the cars, and the setting are so beautifully well set. The writing wasn't weak, but it was messy and feels rushed.
Not an outstanding film, but worth seeing especially If you love Colin Firth. My grade=82%.
