Review of Maggie's Plan (2016) by Wayne M — 09 Jul 2016
Maggie's Plan is a quietly funny, shrewd, intelligent film about relationships and love. It is gentle, sweet and truthful. It has a good heart and a smart brain. Maggie is a capable woman who can't quite nail relationships but she wants children.
She meets a married man who she thinks could solve both problems, but soon enough finds out her new world is not as good she possibly hoped. Maggie is played, superbly, by the luminescent Greta Gerwig who can display sublime comic timing and massive vulnerability.
All around the cast is excellent, working with a stellar script that makes for a very enjoyable film that plays with the brain cells and also tugs at the heart.
