Review of Maggie (2015) by Philip D — 02 Nov 2015
An interesting turn for Arnold Schwarzenegger in his most subtle and more dramatic roles to date. He shows a side I've definitely never seen from any other performance he has given making me forget he was the man, the myth, the legend Arnold was all know from action movies mostly.
Abigail Breslin is great at the title character Maggie that is transforming slowly into a zombie which was a unique approach to take to a very tired genre by now. Most of these zombie movies are "uh oh you've been bit.
All hope is gone for you in about 5 seconds" and it was nice seeing an approach of how you would deal with it if it took more time than a usual zombie movie takes. She has a great scene with other zombies by a camp fire that I loved that enhances what I love about this movie.
It isn't a gore feast "kill all of the zombies" movie it is a calm movie that is more talk than action. This is worth a rental. It's short and sweet and worth your time.
