Review of Madonna: Truth or Dare (1991) by Kim B — 18 Jul 2010
I thought it was an interesting look into the world of performers and of course into the life of the biggest female pop star to live. I was expecting to see her having sex or something the way people talk about it.
If anything though it didn't shock me, but explained more about her character and why she pushes the envelope. After seeing this movie I think Madonna is very intelligent, brash, has an odd sense of humor, likes to shock, is very business-oriented, aggressive, artistic and extremely talented.
It was no luck that she rose to such stardom. I wish it would have gone more in depth, but I loved the footage of her energetic shows and unscripted backstage action. I think she showed an honest portrayal of herself no excuses, including parts where she laughs inappropriately, unabashedly proclaims her love of fame, spits at police officers, yells at employees, and interrupts others.
