Review of Madea's Class Reunion - The Play (2003) by Derrick A — 13 Jun 2007
Tyler Perry is a mastermind. He combines a divine faith in the Lord without being preachy or cheesy with a massive dose of comedy and homages to black culture. All his plays are essentially the same: black woman suffers in an abusive relationship, through song, God, comedy, and Madea's trusty purse that would put Poppins to shame the woman gets out of the relationship.
The reuse of plots make his plays a bit contrived, but if it's not broke don't fix it.
