Review of Madea Goes to Jail (2009) by Brandon W — 04 May 2015
Madea Goes to Jail is a good movie that shows that Madea can be funny, and that they need to show her more often. From Madea's story, it's actually funny with some unexpected moments that are also get a laugh.
There are some jokes that were misfires, but that's expected from Tyler Perry's type of humor. Now the movie didn't really focus on Madea that much as it was more focused on the melodrama side with Josh and Candace's story, which I felt it is bit of a problem.
While the acting is good from Derek Luke, Keshia Knight Pulliam, and Viola Davis, I agree with a reviewer that it takes itself a little too serious. It's a predictable that even in the beginning you can tell what's going to happen at the end.
The chemistry between Josh and Linda is not good and that it made me wonder about how they even get together in the first place. It's a bit interesting to watch, and it has some funny moments from the best friend.
Madea Goes to Jail is a funny movie that makes me wonder about why is the movie not all about Madea.
