Review of Made in Dagenham (2010) by Jean-Marie L — 06 Dec 2010
Though the story jumps around and lacks some focus, the movie still manages to be touching and entertaining. The movie is based on an inspiring true story of a group of women who stood up for what was right.
The movie benefits from a talented group of actors. Hawkins is excellent and anchors the movie in a moving and honest performance. Richardson stands out as a diplomat who helps the cause. She is tough and hilarious throughout.
Director Cole does an admirable job of recreating the time period and bringing humanity to the story. Ultimately, the movie is inspiring, funny, and heartfelt.
