Review of Made in Dagenham (2010) by Matthew D — 01 Apr 2011
Amazing depiction of the fight for women's rights in the workforce.
What transpired in Dagenham sparked a revolution for women demanding equal pay taking all the risks.
Sally Hawkins gives an inspiring performance as a worker/wife/mother leading the women of Britain to ultimate freedom.
The film also has a solid production value along with a hip 60's backdrop and music.
Its an effective drama both historically and storywise overcoming its own predictability.
The stakes are high and so are the costs but the cost of freedom is never impossible to reach.
