Review of Made in Dagenham (2010) by Ana B — 23 May 2011
Entartaining film with the added interest that is actually based in true facts. The women machinists that made the seats for Ford cars in the factory of Dagenham went on strike demanding equal pay as a skilled workers they were. The story follows the steps of the leader of the strikers, Rita O'Grady, how she faced management and the two faced unions to defend what was right while struggling with her personal life.
This is another example of good british cinema, a film that entertains you while you learn about the events that shaped the life of factory workers for years to come, the beginning of equal pay and equal rights, a landmark in the rights of women. Good direction and cast and excellent costumes make this movie more than a good watch. Not to be missed.
