Review of Made in Dagenham (2010) by Peter A — 19 Aug 2011
A well acted small scale British movie that looks and feels like it was made for TV. In 1968 187 female factory workers went on strike for equal pay and nearly brought corporate giant Ford to its knees changing history and human rights forever.
Its hard to believe that women doing the same job as men were given much less pay and everyone was OK with that. Good, understated performances from the women though Bob Hoskins looks a little bit lost and is superfluous.
It just needed a little bit more imagination and pazazz though I accept that's difficult when you're portraying a true event.
