Review of Madame Bovary (1949) by Andrew B — 09 Dec 2008
Jennifer Jones and Van Heflin are fantastic. I LOVED how they had shown 'Flauber't on trial both beginning and end. The Bovary book I have has the trial in it as well as the different translations.
I can't belive how true they stood to the original print. Flaubert's original message. At the end of both book and movie you can't help but to have pity on them all.
