Review of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (2008) by Esteban G — 28 Dec 2011

This was an entertaining movie which in my opinion is better than the first Madagascar but falls short to other animated films released this year like Kung Fu Panda and Wall-E. The story is funny and entertaining and the most memorable characters happen to be the secondary ones like the penguins and the lemers.

However I dont think I would enjoy watching it again as I would other films of the same genre but it was entertaining to watch for a first time. It had several similarites to the Lion King although not nearly as good as that film, but there are several similarites that can be drawn from that movie such as the evil lion uncle character who even resembles Scar in appearance.

Overall the movie is watchable, entertaining, and the kids will enjoy it although you probably wouldnt find me watching the movie over again.
