Review of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (2008) by Wassim S — 10 Feb 2011

Madagascar has some smart humor in it and especially as it pokes fun of pop culture and pop movie history. While there is some of that in this edition, it isn't as blatant or as much as the last film.

The film was fun enough, but it really didn't live up to the first one. Seriously, the "I like to move it move it" song is annoying enough to almost take off a star for that in itself. However, the animation, some of the jokes, and the hits at pop culture are funny enough to pull it through for me.

I wouldn't mind seeing part 3 when it comes out and they finally make it back to NYC. However, I hope the movies more or less stop from there.
