"Madagascar 3" is the funniest of the three, but the least satisfying. The story is that Marty, Alex, Melman, Gloria, and the other characters from the previous installments leave Africa to Europe so that they can get back to New York.

In this frenzy, they are chased by an animal-control worker who takes her job too seriously, Chantal Dubois. To escape they join a circus and pretend to be circus animals. To start off, its a movie solely for young children since there's not much an adult can absorb from the film.

My biggest issue was that the audience was treated as if it had ADHD; one action- packed scene to the next with dialogue in between used as filler. My third problem was the 'liar-reveal' scenario where a character lies, is caught, and is then forgiven.

It is the second time this happens in the franchise! The animation in the franchise is not really expected to be could but just there to support the gags- and it does. This is so far the funniest animated film of 2012 since it truly had me laughing out loud especially when Captain Dubois continuously survives the most impossible injuries.

Each "Madagascar" film deserves a star for its humor and a star for its voice actors. Other than that it brings nothing new to the franchise. Even Dubois, my favorite supporting character, was a carbon-copy of Cruela DeVille.

I wouldn't ever want to watch it again, but whilst watching I was entertained half of the time which says at least something. One of the only things I liked was when Marty, Alex, Melman, and Gloria come back to New York, they realize that they are happier to be outside of the cage.

"Madagascar 3" is a funny animated film drowning in a sea of deja-vu's.
