This one of those animated movies which I can considered as satisfying. It was made back in 2004-5, so the animation still can't be compared to the more recent animations. But what I want to emphasize most as the strength of this film is its funny-ness. This movie can totally crack out the laughter.

So I know that first of all the cast are all-comedian-cast. It's taking some of Hollywood's top comedian to voice the loveably comedic characters. The main voice actors are very effectively suit their characters. Not just that their voices really enliven them, but the characters themselves were seemed to be designed to suit the actors. Alex is like the lion version of Ben Stiller, Marty is really Chris Rock in zebra form, Melman the girraffe is David Schwimmer alright, and Jada Pinkett Smith's Gloria really echoes her demeanor somehow. Not forgetting Sacha Baron Cohen as King Julien with that awkward laughable accent. Whenever Julien appears, it seems like he just gonna make everyone move it, move it.

Then, another aspect of this movie that SHOULD NOT be missed in my calculation is the score and its composer, none other than the genius Hans Zimmer. The theme he composed for this film is so lively that you'll really be taken to a faraway jungle with mischievous animals.

This movie is a must-watch for animation fans. But more than that, comedy fans. Btw, the "I like to move it, move it" will really makes you wanna dance. Very hillarious!
