Review of Madagascar (2005) by Ben G — 03 Jan 2012
Let's consider what this film is meant primarily as: a comedy.
As a comedy, most of the jokes are either lazily-put-together references to other things in pop culture (where is the actual joke in that?), or a joke along the lines of a sound being repeated so many times that it's meant to be funny (these are simply annoying).
There are probably about 3-4 genuinely funny moments in the film, apart from that it is unoriginal and relies heavily on the aesthetic element.
