Review of Mad Money (2008) by Andy O — 27 Nov 2009
I rented this movie last night and I really enjoyed it, I was getting ready to give it a excellent review then I got to the end of the movie, which is dire.
I didn't really understand how a good movie can be totally ruined and Mad Money certainly was by a ill thought out, contrived bordering on laughable (not in a good way) ending.
In reference to the rest of the movie Mad Money is really funny, it literally made me smile and laugh on numerous occasions and I felt the film flowed well as well as being a very easy watch.
I've just been reading over my previous reviews and I generally make a big deal over the credibility of the plot and of a movies characters, but this isn't really applicable to Mad Money.
This film is meant to be unbelievable it is simply a form of entertainment, it doesn't pretend to be gritty or realistic, akin to the slapstick films of the late 1980's early 1990's comedies Man Money is simply designed to put a smile on the audiences faces.
In reference to the ending I briefly mentioned earlier, it really destroys the film it is almost like a child wrote the ending to finish off daddy's work while he ate lunch or something.
In summary this is a 4.5 star movie completely let down by a ending that I'm trying to forget as actually Mad Money is a rare example of a actually funny comedy caper.
Verdict 3 stars.
