"Thunderdome" was basically taking all the stuff that makes "The Road Warrior" different from "Mad Max" and combining it with "Hook"(with the role of Captain Hook as played by Tina Turner.
..yeah the "Rollin" chick ) and end result left me saying "WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT? What happened to my badass road movie".
