Review of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) by Eric O — 23 Aug 2011
Great action scenes, a very original premise, and a good acting job by Mel Gibson as Max. And yet, I somehow didn't enjoy it that much. I think that it's mostly because the villains are acted as if they're really evil, but since they're acted by musicians who should stick to singing, they mostly just come off as annoying people who aren't even worth your hatred.
One character was actually played by a heavy metal guitarist, which made his scenes feel like one big music video for his band.
