Review of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) by Dann M — 18 Feb 2012
Two men enter. One man leaves. Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome is yet another entertaining post-apocalyptic adventure full of action. Mad Max finds himself passing through Bartertown, and gets caught up in a power struggle between Auntie Entity and Master Blaster that lands him in the Thunderdome arena where he must fight to the death.
The film attempts to appeal to a mass audience and delivers a PG-13 rating instead of the usual R; however the fights and the chases still remain intense and exciting. Beyond Thunderdome is a lighter, more adventure driven Mad Max tale that gives the character a true hero's journey.
