Review of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) by Evan S — 25 May 2013
This movie started off greatly, loved the who Bartertown and thought the Thunderdome idea was awesome, but as soon as the children came in, it was ruined.
Max is still alright, I was angry that he didn't have his Mad Max 2 leather suit on, and I hated his long hair. Tina Turner wasn't very bad, but I loved Jebediah's kid, he was SO FUNNY! The acting was all round good, besides the kids, gah, they were terrible! All repeating their words in sync. Terrible!
The story was good, the Bartertown scenario was cool and stylish, and I thought Master Blaster was pretty cool. Tinas character was alright too. I thought the Thunderdome was smart and stylish, but as soon as he discovered the children, it just got worse and worse. The finale was quite action packed and enjoyable, yet I didn't like the ending.
All round it was very silly with the whole children idea, yet it did have some cool explosions and the costumes were quite nice aswell. But was very disappointing. A bad conclusion to the Mad Max trilogy.
5 out of 10, two stars.
