Review of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) by Henry W — 29 Nov 2014
This film starts out so brilliantly, setting a great scene of what is to come with amazing atmosphere and world building. It's dark, gritty, disturbing.. What the fuck happened?!
This film quickly devolves, after too many deux ex machina's to count, into a PG slapstick affair and disappointing characters for example the tribal kids.. Unnecessary and stupid. Also the fact that the Gyro Captain doesn't even recognise Max, and vice versa.
This film had so much fucking potential but as soon as Max leaves Barter Town, just stop watching, call it a day, and hope the Tom Hardy film is on par with Road Warrior.
