Review of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) by Grayson W — 12 May 2015
So disappointing and no where near the greatness of the first two movies. Beyond Thunderdome is almost redeemed by the hilarious slapstick of the final 20 minute vehicular chase scene, but unfortunately the movie until then is mostly boring, silly, and incomprehensible.
Tina Turner and Mel Gibson aren't bad, but her unclear motives, the deus ex monkey, and the Ewoks that save Max just don't make for a good film. The dark humor and violence has been radically toned down, replaced by silliness and pig shit.
