Review of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) by Ben F — 13 May 2015
Thunderdome requires more patience than the first two films, with occasional pacing issues and b-movie side characters. When up against its predecessors, it seems like a Hollywood-ized version of the more textured prequels.
Besides the incredible Thunderdome sequence, it really all leads up to the final 20 minutes, which are worth the entire experience. The epic train-chase scene shows the first signs of what we'd come to see in Fury Road 30 years later, but might be more impressive considering the true practical effects in Thunderdome.
With that in mind, the ending could really blow you away.
