Review of Mad Max 2 (1981) by Matthew F. J — 29 Jan 2015
The Mad Max trilogy is incredible and I truly think it's a national treasure for our dear land of Australia. Curiously enough a lot of young people from my generation haven't seen them and don't know much about these cult films.
The first one is good but I prefer the second one , the car chases and the story-line are incredible, Max is rough and the kid is awesome with his boomerang and his little fur-Boots.
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome is probably my favourite though.
I know a lot of people are disappointed with it but I thought the entire enterprise was pure genies. Every shot of this film is well constructed and so filled up with various elements , it's a visual feast. I loved the story with the kids, the design or the weapons, the Thunderdome and of course Tina Turner as Aunty was quite something.
I still shiver every-time she says to Max : Well ain't we a pair! ...... good bye soldier! That line is engraved in my memory for a long time.
