Review of Mad Max 2 (1981) by Andrew S — 06 Jan 2013
The most amazing thing about this film is, for all its occasional silly excess, how well it has aged. This is mainly accomplished by virtue of some stunning cinematography (I desperately want to see this on the big screen) and some amazing practical effects and stunt-work. It doesn't hurt that it's unfllinchingly brutal and surprisingly funny to boot. The influence of it can't be overstated, either. Where would Fallout be without Mad Max 2, for example?
Oh, and the Lord Humungus (sic) and Vernon Wells' Wez are two of the best bad guys ever, bum-exposing chaps and all.
