Completely straying away from it's predecessor (thankfully), Mad Max 2 is probably the most notable post-apocalyptic film around. Inspiring stories, settings, and character designs for many other movies and video games (particularly the Fallout series) while incorporating elements of both post-apocalyptic and western genres, Mad Max 2 is the iconic end of the world films.
