Review of Mad Max 2 (1981) by El T — 15 Jul 2014
"ONLY ONE MAN CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE".
- 'Mad Max 2' is a post-apocalyptic action film directed by George Miller (Babe, Happy Feet) and the second installment of the popular Mad Max or Road Warrior franchise, starring Mel Gibson (Braveheart, Lethal Weapon films). Receiving a cult following, this sequel is for me the best of the series. I like the simple but effective storyline, the brutality of scenes, the setting and vehicles and of course the punk/SM looks of the comic book styled characters. Bring on the popcorn and enjoy, 'cause it's a hell of a ride.
In a distant future, fuel has been almost exhausted completely . Max Rockatansky and his dog are searching the roads in their car for gasoline when they come across a group of bikers, who would love to rob him. In a race Max is able to outrun them. In the wasteland, he captures a Gyro Captain who tells him about a nearby oil refinery. When climbing a rocky hill, they see the settlement being attacked by the group of bikers who tried to rob Max. In order to gain some precious fuel, our hero decides to help the people inside the refinery. But to get there he will have to face the leader of the bikers, a tall muscular man wearing a hockey mask who calls himself Humungus.
