Review of Mad Max (1979) by Christopher S — 26 Mar 2013
Mad Max is a decent post-apocalyptic film and a classic of Australian cinema. George Miller directs the action to be all-out carnage with cinematography that is cavernous and tall, yet sometimes too frantic to comprehend.
The score is haunting and opratic and the screenplay is as bizzare and crazy as the lead performances. Aside from occasional romance bits that slow the pace down considerably, the resulting scenes build the tension towards a satisfying climax.
