Review of Mad Max (1979) by Joel A — 04 May 2015
Upon revisiting the original Mad Max it's hard not to see how much director George Miller achieved with very little budget ($350,000) & little known actors at the time.
It's a simple revenge story of murderous gang causing havoc in country Victoria & one day they run over a mother & her son of a local cop & then he takes matters in his own hands.
Very gritty & edgy for its day, dated by today's standards but an incredible success for its time. I launched 2 sequels & the highly awaited sequel this year. One of Mel Gibson's launching roles.
