Review of Mad Max (1979) by Tony F — 30 Dec 2010
Mad Max took us all by storm back when it first came out.
I've seen it a number of times but, I now had the opportunity to watch in my home theater on BluRay and once again, it amazes me. Such a good movie in any time frame let alone, so old with such a low budget.
A few minor cheezeball moments when Max seperates away from his wife and both leave the kid alone but, other than that, some solid pace and story arc.
Post Apocalyptic survivor flick in The Outback and anything and everything goes. Fuel is the precious commodity of course and is worth more than blood, small surprise.
Good cast, extreme dirtbag villains, and Mel Gibson carries the film well.
