Review of Mad Detective (2007) by Stevie W — 10 Feb 2008
I'm usually not a Johnnie To fan, but this inventive cop thriller ranks as one of the better films to come out of HK in awhile. The wonderful Lau Ching Wan plays the 'Mad Detective' an ex-cop who literally is 'mad' in the eyes of his peers.
In between seeing the id's of individuals (in physical form) and solving crimes, 'mad' detective takes on an enthusiastic protege who also tries to get into the minds of the criminals he's going after.
The twisted journey to solve this case is all the fun! A nice surprise.
