Review of Mad City (1997) by Anthony L — 04 Jan 2009
I find this film entertaining despite its derivative nature. It fits snugly in the 'cable recovery' class of movies where it becomes difficult to take your eyes off it while flipping through channels.
There's something to be said for that. Hoffman and Travolta don't exactly mail it in and their chemistry and energy determine the flow of the plot. More often than not, they maintain the ability to keep you locked in.
