Review of Machine Gun Preacher (2011) by Wolven D — 01 Mar 2012
At first I was a bit apprehensive to watch this movie because I have a very bias opinion about most mainstream Christian movements as portrayed in the media. But this touching story of a very VERY flawed man and the personal journey he takes in the name of faith is ABSOLUTELY touching.
I won't lie, the movie is VERY hard to watch due to its graphic setup and later in the movie it's horrifically brutal scenes of violence in Africa against the children.
But when the tides turn, and the anger flows through this holy man's veins ... well, it draws you in and wretches your hearts.
This movie is worthy of SOOO much praise I can't even begin to describe it. What I like most about it is that it is based on actual CURRENT events. And to prove that, videos, pictures, and testimonies are played while the credits roll.
Hands DOWN a 5 star film!!
