Review of Machine Gun Preacher (2011) by Bernard N — 04 Mar 2012
The movie is all over the place and then just ends abruptly. I've said before just because a story is true doesn't mean it will make a good movie. Childers life in the Sudan would likely make a better documentary.
The emotions and timelines are so up and down that it seems very unlikely the real life story was anything close to the movie. Butler's acting was way over the top and all over the map. The movie just fell short of making sense and being worth dealing with the emotional detachment that comes with watching children get blown apart or worse.
