Review of Machine Gun Preacher (2011) by Jennifer M — 01 Oct 2012

This was a mess. It was like 2 completely separate movies (a recovering addict drama and a war movie) spliced together. The character motivations did not make sense. Why did he keep living the dual existence? Why did his wife put up with him? Or why didn't she go with him to Africa? No explanations.

And if you're going to tell a story about a white guy going to Sudan to rescue black babies, shouldn't you spend some time explaining what the hell is going on? Who is fighting who and why are the black babies in the middle? I'd like to know.
