Review of Machine Gun Preacher (2011) by Ken H — 13 Oct 2012
Way too much unnecessary language... It confuses the whole point of the movie. I mean, aren't we supposed to be touched by the conversion and ministry of this man Sam Childers and the needs of these poor children??? No, you don't have to white wash everything but my goodness, we had to turn the volume down to keep from offending our neighbors and losing our testimony.
To me it took away from want the real point should have been... "A bad man turned good and as a result helps poor children in a very conflictive area". Instead we see a conflicted man, backsliden, angry, violent with a foul mouth to boot.
The Director did Sam an injustice in my opinion, yet I'm surprised Sam signed off on being represented that way.
