Review of Machine Gun Preacher (2011) by Kimberly B — 14 Dec 2012
The story itself is interesting, although it seemed so hokey and cheesy, I didn't realize until the end that it was based on (wonder how much) a true story. Maybe I missed the part in the beginning that told us that? In any case, there are lots of parts that make you roll your eyes and gag a little -- corny cliches and some pretty dumb dialogue.
But still -- who doesn't like to see bad guys get what's coming to them and victimized little kids get some help, right? Mildly worth watching but all in all, NOT a good film by most standards of the art.
Gerard Butler does a decent job with a mediocre script.
